Stroke is the number one reason people are admitted for a brain problem, driven mostly by high blood pressure. Epilepsy is very common and heavily, unfairly, stigmatised. Headache, brain infections, and nerve problems follow.

A stroke is when blood stops reaching part of the brain. Brain cells die within minutes. If you see even one of these signs, it is an emergency.
Treatment that dissolves the clot works best within about 4.5 hours of the first sign. Note the time the person was last seen well, the hospital needs it.
Most headaches are not dangerous. But some warning signs mean a headache needs a doctor. Health workers remember them with the word SNOOP.
If any SNOOP sign is present, do not just take a painkiller. See a health worker or go to hospital.

Epilepsy is a medical condition, not a curse, and it is not contagious. Knowing what to do keeps the person safe and fights the stigma.
Keep the person safe. Once the shaking stops, gently turn them onto their side so they can breathe. This is the recovery position.
Go to hospital if: the fit lasts more than 5 minutes, another follows without waking, it is their first fit, they are injured, pregnant, or do not wake up properly.
