A child grows in body and brain fastest in the first years. Good food now shapes their whole life.
Breast milk only for the first six months. After that, add soft local foods and keep breastfeeding to two years.
Mix the plate: energy foods (plantain, cassava, rice), body-building foods (beans, fish, eggs, groundnut), and protective foods (green leaves, fruits).
Feed small amounts often, a young stomach is small. Be patient and keep offering.
See a health worker if a child is not gaining weight, is very thin, or has swollen legs and feet.
