The first month is the most fragile time. Simple care keeps a newborn safe.
Keep the baby warm, skin-to-skin with the mother, and breastfeed within the first hour.
Keep the cord clean and dry. Do not put anything on it.
Watch for danger signs: not feeding, fever or cold body, fast or hard breathing, yellow skin, or fits.
Go for the first check-ups and vaccines on time. Ask for help early, do not wait.
